Confederate Marines Soft Armor by Coonass Confederate Marines Soft Armor by Coonass
Guess who discovered the colorize tool in Photoshop. This is yet another piece of art relating to the Confederate Marine Corps for the Black Age Table top wargame. This is set so far in the future that I'm using several technologies that would not be possible, so bear with the unbelievability.

This is a "soft armor" concept for the Confederate Marine Corps. It is worn by all Marine Corps infantry under their "Hard Armor battle suits" and Marine Corps aviators under their flight suits. It is also worn by other Marine Corps Personnel that are not expected to see combat as their primary armor. These include starship crewmen and Command HQ staff members. The primary purpose of this armor is to provide infantry that have to eject from their battle suits some degree of protection. It also provides one more layer of protection to the already impressive Mk5 battle suits.

Tevlar: Similar to Kevlar but much stronger

Durraflex Alloy: Not really an allow, this is a synthetic material that is naturally soft but hardens when subjected to pressure, like a bullet impact.

Gamma-994871: A fluid that hardens when subjected pressure, very light and very strong.

Camalar: Also similar to kevlar, but stronger and clear. Used in active camouflage

Normally has camouflage or is in uniform colors right?

Is it stiff? and how well does it breath?

Is it wore in addition to a uniform it is it the standard uniform of non front-line combat personnel?

it comes in multiple colors

it has the flexibility of kevlar soft armor

it is normally worn under power armor, used as primary armor for drivers, tank crewman, and some POGs

So Kevlar flexibility. not bad.

Though as powered armor under armor seems a little... thick?

I would want my Under armor to be air tight and more flexible.
Like a skin suit with some input up-links and light Kevlar under weave.
